Creating site for my wife – she wants to know what the optimal pixel size for the photos to work best with theme?

Since there are typically 3 visual platforms mobile, tablet and monitor – might it make sense to load 3 different sizes of the same image. Perhaps a 4th version for the photo wall. I know images can be resized but want to avoid the blurriness that others have reported in the form. Allowing for large images in the gallery seemed to effect the grid layout.

So could we get some guidance as to what works best?

Found this in documentation under shortcodes but seems to only focus on width :

width=”” … 1 to 12. (required). 12 = 100%, 6 = 50%, 3 = 25%.
width_xs=”” … 1 to 12. (optional). Extra small devices – Phones (<768px).
width_md="" … 1 to 12. (optional). Medium devices – Desktops (≥992px).
width_lg="" … 1 to 12. (optional). Large devices – Desktops (≥1200px).

Hi, here are the image sizes we have used in the demo site;

– blog featured images : 1000px
– portfolio featured images : 760x507px
– portfolio single pages : since the photogallery is zoomable you can use larger images as you wish, we used images about 3000x2000px and filesize under 500kb to prevent slow loading.
– photowall images are 150x150px.
