Sidebar missing

Today I upgraded my theme to the latest version, and it was working great. Then I updated WordPress to version 3.8, and my sidebar disappeared.

I have the following settings for the theme:

    Blog Type > Sidebar
    Post Sidebar > Yes

I still have all the same widgets in the “Blog Sidebar” box.

Can anyone help figure out what happened?

Update: After messing around with this for the last couple hours, I’ve found that the sidebar is there for logged out users. It’s only missing when I’m logged in. So you will see the sidebar if you visit the site, but I do not see it if I’m logged into wp-admin. I’ve also noticed that the WordPress bar that is supposed to be at the top of the page now loads at the bottom in a list.

Still having this problem. Our sidebar and wordpress dashboard bar appear in a big list at the bottom of the site, only when logged in.

Hi, there is no problem on my side. Deactivate your plugins, then try again please.

    Thanks

I’m also having sidebar issues on my contact page. The problem seems to coincide with either the recent WP update, or my installing the Bloggy 2.4 update.

When I went into the widget section to edit a custom sidebar, at first, a map image would not appear after saving. It wasn’t a functioning map, just an image.

When I went back in to try to troubleshoot the problem, my text widget still had my text and code in it, but was not appearing on the page. I noticed something new on the widget, a button called “visibility” that I hadn’t ever noticed before. I clicked it and chose a “page” option, clicked save. When I went to view the page, the sidebar content was still not appearing … But this time, when I returned to check my widget content for errors, the content was gone! Not sure if it’s gone forever, but the code in my widget has disappeared.

Ok, I think it has to do with a plugin called Page Navi. I think it automatically installed when I test drove the 2014 theme that came along with the latest WP 3.8 update. I deactivated it, and I think sidebars are working. I’ll let you know.

Yep. Seems to be working ok after disabling WP Page Navi plugin. I didn’t realize it was ever activated.

Is the “Visibility” button in sidebar widgets something new in Bloggy or WP? Or I just never noticed it before?

New features come with WordPress 3.8.
