If I go to https://pixl.ink/9-lives, it redirects to https://books/9-lives.
This is interesting behavior. I’ve disabled all plugins and it still does it. Is this intended behavior? If so, can we turn it off?

Hi, it is the sample data. You need to delete book items under Books menu in wp admin.

Of course. I was simply using the sample data as…. Well… An example. I have other urls that do the same thing.
Do you intentionally redirect a similar url from the root to a taxonomy?
Just for giggles, I installed new installation of wordpress, imported your sample data and set the permalinks to /%postname%/. That is it… nothing else.
When I do this, localhost/9-lives redirects to localhost/books/9-lives.
When I go to localhost/9-lives I should get a 404 error and not redirect.
Thanks, I see how that works now. I just don’t like it. Would you mind rewriting WordPress when you get a chance? :) Thanks for replying.
