WordPress only file

    I’m fairly new to WordPress, HTML and CSS and I’ve had to download the WordPress only file as there was a problem with the CSS. How can I get my site to look like the demo version when there’s no dummy text, fields like “excerpt” and “type” for the portfolio, etc. Can you please provide some documentation for how I can create a similar site using just the WordPress file.

    Also, I’m unable to upload my photo above the menu. I know where to go to do it but every time I click “insert into post” after locating the file I want to upload, the window disappears and the Image Logo field is left blank. Please help.

    Oh never mind, I feel dumb. I figured out the shortcodes and the portfolio page.

    I’m still having issues with the image above the menu though.

    Hi, when uploading your image logo, you need to set Link Url = File Url Size : Full Size and then click on “Insert Into Post” button.
    You can find out the documentation in the theme file.
    Thanks

    Hello.
    My About me page is not responsive when used with an iPad in portrait (vertical) view. The icons and text become squished and/or appear too far above the “fun facts” icons. Here’s a link to the page: http://ainsleymatthews.ca/#/about. How do I get them to align properly?

    Also, how do I get rid of the pound symbol in my url?

    Thanks!

    Hi afmatthews,
    I just checked with my iPad and didn’t detect any responsiveness issue. Could you please deactivate all your plugin, download a fresh copy of the theme and try it again. If you sill have the issue, please tell me your iPad version and iPad model and version, please?
    Thanks

    Thanks serkan. I’m still having issues. When I inspect the demo version of the About me page http://preview.themeforest.net/item/empathy-a-vcard-theme/full_screen_preview/12248701 (as an iPad user 768 x 1024 in vertical mode), your 4 services get stacked on top of each other with Copywriter and Game Dev in the first row and Management and Problem Solver in the second row. Mine appear as 4 across and they get squished together. Can you tell me what column sizes the demo version uses?

    Also, new issue – since I have the WordPress only file I had to come up with an alternate homepage tagline without the typing effect. In vertical mode, my homepage image isn’t responsive. Is there a way I can fix this? http://ainsleymatthews.ca/
    Thanks!

    I see what you mean but do you have any change to check your website with other iPad devices. I would like to help you but need to know your iPad model and iOS version. It might be related to your devices maybe. I will check your website with same iPad and the same iOs version that is why I need those information.
    Thanks

    Hi serkan,
    It’s an iPad mini iOS 9.3.2.

    Hi afmatthews,
    Wordpress is cropping little bit because it wants to keep the all page cover. It is horizontal image and for the vertical view, WordPress wants to crop it You can make it responsive with this custom CSS code

    section#homepage { background-repeat: no-repeat; background-size: contain; background-position: center; }

    Could you check the column shortcode in the documentation, please?
    You can put the item in a row with column shortcode.
    Thanks

    Thanks serkan. I added the custom css but it flanks the homepage image with a gray border. Is there any way of avoiding this?

    Can you tell me the column/row sizes that the demo uses? I’m currently using the four-column shortcode for my About me section.

    Yeah, I know gray border comes with images. Because of the image dimension. I would recommend you to add your home page title with rotate shortcode. Don’t integrate with the image like our demo website.

    [column width="6" width_md="3"]

    Thanks serkan. Sorry about all these questions but does the rotate words shortcode work with the wordpress only file? I’m having some trouble getting it to appear.

    You can use the rotate words shortcodes like this;

    I am [rotate_words titles=”a writer.,a blogger.,a wordpress lover.,an adventurer.”]

    Thanks
