social icons in japanese

I’ve been looking on the subject and I have not found anything about it.
On the web, the circles of social icons are displayed, but within circles no icon, if not a letter in Japanese. Also icons contact page and the map have disappeared.
I disabled all plugins and it seems that none fails.
They know that it may be due?

    Hi jennicarbo,
I just checked your related url and it looks okay. Can you tell me your test browser and version, please?
    Thanks

I’m also having the same issue, using Safari browser 9.1.3 on Mac. They show up fine in Chrome on Mac (latest build), but when I use Safari they show up as Chinese characters. Weird. Thank you-

    Hi btfitz,
I just tested our demo website using Safari browser 9.1.3 on Mac and didn’t see any issue. Do you see the same problem in our demo website as well. Please deactivate all your plugin and try it again please?
    Thanks

Thanks Serkan. I tested your demo site on the same computer and the icons look just fine there.
I deactivated all plugins and tested on two iMacs, same Safari version, and they both still display Chinese characters.

One more note….it’s now coming up with Chinese characters in Chrome….must have flushed the cache out and now it’s pulling the wrong characters.

    Hi,
You told me that you deactivated all plugin and tried again and same result but when I checked your console, it says its happening because of some plugins. I want you to be sure that, please deactivate all of them and activate one by one.
    Thanks

    Serkan,

I have again deactivated all plugins and will keep them deactivated so you can see what effect that has. Now the social media icons display little squares in them instead of icons or Chinese characters. Also, something curious….in the Dashboard view, I can see at the top of my screen a little WordPress icon, then other icons like a speechbubble, indicating how many comments i have pending, and a “plus” sign next to the word “New”. All of that appears as it should until I go to my home page while still logged in. At the top of my screen is a horizontal black line with those same items in it, indicating I’m logged in. But the WordPress logo, the speechbubble and the plus sign are all replaced with the same little square that the social media icons have.
The only thing that has changed this week? I had my designer add a custom font from cloud.typography–a webfont that is part of my brand that now I’m using for all the headlines and body font on my site. She added the reference to the external css into my header.php file, then added the font css to my stylesheet.css file. As far as I know, that’s all she did. The problem is that I think since Fontonella is also a font, my site is now using my custom font “Forza” for all fonts….even the social media icons, and the system dashboard icons too…and is using little squares because there is nothing it can find to display there.
I don’t think it’s my plugins at all….in fact, everything is still broken even with all plugins deactivated.
Please let me know your thoughts. I can give you access to the site as well, but I’d want to do that via a more secure channel. Thank you!

    Hi btfitz,
Hi, sorry we don’t provide support for customizations that includes editing core PHP files. If you need to edit the PHP files then you should create a child theme. When your designer editing the stylesheet.css and header.php files, some line should be deleted or affected because of the new code. New codes may be smashed theme CSS codes. Yeah sure I would like to solve this issue but when you edit the main files, it is hard to detect the main problems.
    Thanks

    Hi Serkan,
No worries. I had already created a child theme, and I’ve now figured out the issue in my css that was overriding fontonello. Thank you!
