Import Demo Data (Not Working)

    Hello,

I unzipped the file and installed the the cvcard.zip theme and installed successfully, however, it is not importing demo data, although I have already installed the one click demo import plugin, it’s active, and when I click “Import Demo Data” from appearance menu, it instantly says it has successfully installed but when I check there’s nothing there. I tried the wordpress install xml file route and it’s saying the file already exists, so I am not sure what else to do.

    Your help is appreciated,

    Thank you!

Hi, If you uploaded the xml file then go to settings > reading
Front page : homepage and post page : blog
Then go to menu and choose custom menu.
Appearance > widgets > set the cvcard template page.
You can find info in the documentation.
    Thanks

    Hello
    I’m having the same problem.
But I’ve tried what you suggest going to settings, reading and I don’t have “homepage” or “blog”.
Can you advise? I can’t see any demo data.
    Thanks,

    Hi emilus,
Please be sure that you upload the dummy data correctly. You can read the documentation for learning how to upload the demo data..
    Thanks

    Hello
Sorry I’m not an expert on WP.
I’ve been trying to find the documentation but I can’t find it.
I searched inside the zip file I downloaded and there is no documentation. I found a readme file but it only has this line on it “http://themeforest.net/user/pixelwars”
Can you tell me where I can find the documentation?

    What I did was:
    – downloaded the .zip file after paying
    – imported the theme from the wp page, uploaded the whole .zip file
    – then added the recommended plugin One Click Demo Import and I run Import Demo Data
    – I have this message : That’s it, all done!
The demo import has finished. Please check your page and make sure that everything has imported correctly. If it did, you can deactivate the One Click Demo Import plugin, because it has done its job.

    And nothing is there.

    Thank you

    Hi,
You need to extract the zip file and you will find the cvcardwp.zip file and documentation as well.
Please try it again. If you struggling with importing the dummy data, let me know.
    Thanks

    Hello
    I’ve just tried again.
    I dl a .zip called “themeforest-7476245-cvcard-wp-responsive-vcard-theme-wordpress-theme.zip”
    I extracted, it’s a folder named “cvcard”
And inside that folder there are other
    – folders:
admin, css, demo, images, js, languages
    – readme.txt
    – screenshot.png
    and then many .php files

Again, I don’t see nothing called documentation or similra and no other .zip file.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Hi,
You downloaded only wordpress file. You should download all the theme files.
    https://themeforest.net/downloads
Please choose all files & documentation.
    Thanks

That’s the link I used but I just clicked on Download, I didn’t notice there was a contextual menu, it was not proposed. I see it now.
    I’m going to try again
    Many thanks

    Hi Serkan,

I can’t get my demo data to upload no matter what I do!
    – tried suggestions you made to gaby08, no luck
    – tried suggestion you gave emilus, no luck (have downloaded the full packet and the wordpress specific one) tried uploading both
    – the wordpress specific one will upload, but no demo content
    – the full packet won’t upload, says it is missing style CSS file, but I can see it in the upload zipped file, so it’s not missing

Very confused and frustrated… any help you could provide would be great!

Also, in relation to the above, I seem to be able to see the Demo content in “Posts” and such… It is all uploaded it just isn’t showing on my page when I go to View/Customize…

    Hi,
Please check out your resume and do your editing on it. I just choose the default homepage instead of your custom homepage and saved it.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I’m trying to import demo data, but I have the same problem: nothing shows up.

Tried to reset the WP installation, with a fresh import but nothing at all.
As far as I can see, the pages are not imported/Created: there is only the “Example page” created by the WP installation.
The same for the Portofolio items: empty.
    Any help?

    Hi Terno,
Could you please read the installation section in the documentation folder? You can find it in the theme folder.
If you still have any issue, provide me your related url, please?
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply, however I already solved by deleting all the installation, resintalling and using the XML file instead of the import plugin. Worked!
