Sidebar menu broken with latest release

    Dear Pixelwars,

    After upgrading WP to the latest release (4.7.2), the side bar menu has been broken.

    Here is what my side bar used to look like:

    WELCOME
    ABOUT ME
    menu1
    menu2
    …
    menu5

    Now, it looks like this:

    WELCOME
    ABOUT ME
    ABOUT ME
    ABOUT ME
    ABOUT ME
    ABOUT ME
    ABOUT ME
    ABOUT ME
    ABOUT ME
    menu1
    menu2
    …
    menu5

    Only the first ABOUT ME initiates page transition (scroll) when clicking the menu. However, its content is from other irrelevant blog post, rather than about me page that I created.

    Weirdly enough, ABOUT ME menu shows up 8 times on Safari and only twice on Chrome.

    I just launched the site but had to close it due to this issue. I’d greatly appreciate if this issue could be looked into, so that I could reopen the site.

    Hi boogie98,
    It is so weird issue. Could you send me your related url ? I need to check the source code. WordPress update doesn’t affect the sidebar. Could you deactivate all your plugin and try it again ?

    Before bug report, I disabled all the plug-ins and confirmed the same issue persists. If you want me to disable all the plug-ins again, please let me know.

    When you finish your investigation, could you please let me know? I’d like to keep it private until we know how to resolve the issue.

    Another piece of information: When I click the first ABOUT ME on the side menu, it links to different blog articles depending on web browser. On Safari, it links to the blog post #1, whereas Chrome redirects to the blog post #2. For both cases, though, it should point to About Me page, not blog posts. Hopefully, this info help you get a clue on this issue. Thanks!

    Update: After reboot, Safari now shows what Chrome does. No more 8 repeats, but 2 duplicates with wrong links. Hope this helps. Thank you!

    I think you hide the sidebar. I could not check the issue. If you don’t want to show the issue to customers, could you provide me your wp admin details via our contact form and add this topic url as well.
    So, I can test the website.

    Serkan,

    Can you elaborate what you meant by “hide the sidebar”? Does it mean the side bar does not show up when you connect to my website? On both desktop and mobile, I do see the side bar shows up with ABOUT ME repeated twice (when not logged in) and eight times (when logged in). I can send you screenshots if it works better for you to investigate the issue.

    I even switched the theme to others and came back to the Empathy theme, but it did not work.
