I read the topic related to the footer subscribe where you say that it’s best to use mail chimp widget. I managed to have the side bar sign up form look like I want it to. However, the MailChimp footer subscribe form is still different, mainly because I don’t know how to change the font for ” sign up for my newsletter “. Right now it’s tiny and is barely seen
Hi nat,
Could you try to use this custom css code, please ?.footer-subscribe label:not(.error) { font-size: 14px; }Thanks
I’m also having an issue with the Footer Subscribe Widget. I am using hte Mailchimp for WordPress plugin. I keep getting this issue when trying to subscribe/opt-in to the email newsletter: “Hey, love, you gotta pick at least one list.” I’m not really sure why this error occurs when there is only one newsletter list to choose from. I have changed the settings in the plugin and have selected the list that people should subscribe to.
Hi,
I would recommend you to check this related url. It contains detailed information on how to make the list.

ThanksI don’t think you’re understanding me. I’ve created a list in mailchimp, however, the widget on theblogger theme won’t let a user opt-in because upon clicking the “submit” button, an error of “hey love, you gotta pick at least one list” is returned.
There isn’t an issue with the form itself, just the widget. I’ve tested the form on a regular blog page and it works, however the “footer subscribe” widget is not working with the plugin
Hi, Please go to Mailchimp for WP > settings > Select the list(s) to which people who submit this form should be subscribed and save it.
I just tested in our demo website and I have not encountered your mistake. The plugin works smoothly in the footer area. Could you go through the steps again?
ThanksI’ve done that several times and even mentioned that I’ve done that in the first message I posted. I am still getting the error. Are you able to visit my site and attempt to subscribe to the newsletter? That way you can see first-hand what I mean: http://hairrible.com
Hi, I see you get an error. But in order to be able to detect it, you have to look back at these steps. Because we tested it on our own site and saw that it worked fine.
1. Make sure you have lists created in your MailChimp account.
a. Login into your MailChimp account.
b. Click on the Lists tab from the top menu.
c. Hit the Create List button in the top right corner on the next screen.
d.Fill in your list details: list name, company name, email and MailChimp message. Click Save to save the changes.2.Now you will need to change your WordPress settings. Please, login into your site backend:
a. Open the MailChimp for Form > MailChimp page.
b. Locate Your MailChimp Account section and click Renew MailChimp lists button.
c. You will see all of available lists there.
d. Open MailChimp for Form > Form page.
e. Select Settings tab. You should see all available lists there.
f. Select the list(s) to which people, who submit this form should be subscribed.3. Select one and save. This will ensure your user data is added to the list and you would not see any errors.
I’ve done that and I’m continually getting the same error. It’s to the point where I either need to delete the plugin and start over or use an entirely different WP theme.
When I click “preview this form”, in the ‘MailChimp for WP’ > Forms section, the form works perfectly with no issues. However, the Footer Subscribe widget form produces errors, which leads me to believe the issue is not with Mailchimp or the plugin. I’ve even resorted to github, and no one there is having issues with the plugin itself
Hi,
Could you send me your wp admin details via our contact form and this topic url as well ?Hi, I switched to WordPress’s default theme and tested it. There is the same issue in the theme. That means; The problem is not related to the theme. First of all, I would recommend you to go to the mailchimp plugin’s support page, open a relevant question there and wait for a response. After the response, we will decide how we should act. You think that the problem is related to our theme. If we had the mistake, the WordPress default theme worked fine. Thanks for your understanding.
Okay, will do. Thanks! I will get back with you if need be :)
