Two blogs on one site?

    Hi,

    I would like to set up:

    1) Home page: which displays my blog with a sidebar and featued area (I have already done this – all good).

    2) A blog page which displays all my posts at full width, no side bar and so featured area.

    How do I set up a new blog page if my current home page is already classed as the blog?

    I thought about directing to a category, in which all my posts would be tagged. However this page had a sidebar. Could I set up a category page, call it ‘blog’ and remove the sidebar?

    Or is there a better way?

    Thanks

    There might be another way to describe this:

    When I go to the .com/blog url of my website none of the blog posts appears. They appear on the specific category feeds and on the home page, but not here.

    If there appeared here I would have solved the problem. Please can you explain how to make each post appear on the .com/blog feed.

    Thanks

    Hi @marieteather
    First of all, create a blog page, then choose no sidebar on the right-hand side of the page and save it. After that; please go to settings > reading > your homepage displays > choose post page: blog and save it. This will show the blog flow on the blog page and there will be no sidebar.
    Thanks

    Thanks. I did this and it helped but didn’t do exactly what I need.

    On the .com home page – I want to keep the sidebar next to my latest posts.

    On the .com/blog page I do not want the sidebar next to my posts.

    I set up a page for .com/blog and set it to ‘no sidebar’ but the sidebar still appears.

    In Customizer: Appearance > Customize > Sidebar > Post Sidebar, if I set blog sidebar to yes it displays the sidebar on the both pages. If I set this to no, it removes it from both.

    Any ideas please?

    Hi @marieteather
    Making homepage as the blog and making extra blog page will not be sensible behavior. If you want to show the latest post on the homepage and show it all in the blog post it is a separate blog page then it is okay.
    Anyway, this custom css code can solve the issue;

    .blog .sidebar { display: none;
    .blog .site-content { margin-right: 0; }

    Thanks

    I tried that but it left a white space where the sidebar was.

    But not to worry – I found another solution. I set a category for all posts called ‘blog’ and then displayed this feed (www.XXXX.com/category/blog/ ) as my additional blog feed.

    Thanks!
