What should the width size in pixels be for a full-width image on the featured area blog page?
I have uploaded varying sizes of the image from 500px in width to over 1060 (the width of my page) and all seem to zoom in to crop the image – which means the text is cut off.
I’m confused why it zooms it to crop the image not just display the image uploaded. I have set the widget to full size, 100%.
So the Link Box widget didn’t seem to work at all so instead, I have inserted an image to the featured area.
2 issues:
1) the image quality is impaired. I have uploaded a number of sizes (the current one is huge) but for some reason on the site the quality is impaired and it seems blurred. Why?
1) There is a white margin on the left and right of the image. How do I remove this?
Hi @marieteather
I recommend you to use the intro widget for the featured area. Then upload your image as background image in the intro widget.
If you want to get a sharp image on retinal assisted devices, it is recommended that the width of the photo is 1920px.
After that, you can go to appearance > customize > featured area > intro > you can control padding, margin, size and so on.
Thanks
