Is there any way I can hide or remove the number of people who have read my posts?

I read someone else had had the same question somewhere in the forum and tried to edit the code as described in the reply, but I could not make it work, nor am I entirely sure even how to do it, or where, but the things I tried didn’t work.

Could you please describe the exact steps for me? I’d really appreciate it.
