Hi, to decrease the request count, make sure to activate minify and combine for CSS and js files from W3 Total Cache settings.
We still recommend Optimole and W3-Total-Cache based on our experiences, you can test multiple plugins and keep what fits best for your site.
I would also suggest you to contact your hosting provider and ask to increase allocated memory size for your plan and if it still doesn’t fix your issues you may consider switching a better hosting, We recommend a2 hosting turbo plans;
