Because I have a lot of old stories on my blog, I normally have the “Automatically close comments on articles older than …” setting turned on in the Discussion section – and when I do, it shows the old comments but just doesn’t allow new ones. (I’ve set it to not allow new comments for posts over 80 days old).
However, in Bloggy this setting has a different effect: when it’s checked, my site doesn’t show comments at all, either for old or even new stories. When I uncheck it then the comments appear as normal, including on new stories.
I tried everything so that the comments do appear, but that new ones aren’t allowed on old stories (for example, I made sure that the “comments allowed” box is ticked under the posts) – but I can’t figure out why this feature isn’t working in Bloggy.
Thanks for replying – I appreciate it. That line of code does now make the comments appear under posts that no longer accept new comments. However, the little box underneath each post headline that shows how many comments there are (right next to the boxes that show the post date and category) still doesn’t appear (although it appears on newer posts still accepting comments).
I know this is a minor thing, but is there a way I can make that box show up for all the posts (like it does if the “Automatically close comments on articles older than …” setting is turned off?
