I recently purchased the Fuud theme to transition from my previous setup (Foxiz theme using the Tasty Recipes plugin). My website is an established, high-traffic food blog with over 2,000 published recipes, so maintaining search engine rankings and avoiding URL structure changes is critical.
After experiencing a site crash during the initial demo import (which I have since stabilized), I attempted to migrate my existing recipe library from Tasty Recipes into WP Delicious using the built-in conversion tool. The batch process took over two hours to complete for my 2,000+ recipes.
The Problem: Content Duplication & URL Splitting
The migration did not replace or update the recipe data within the original blog posts. Instead, it created an entirely separate custom post type for each recipe:
⚬ Original Post URL: [https://yourdomain.com/recipe-name/](https://yourdomain.com/recipe-name/) (Still live, but the recipe card within it was not converted to WP Delicious).
⚬ New Duplicate URL Created: [https://yourdomain.com/recipe/recipe-name/](https://yourdomain.com/recipe/recipe-name/) (Contains the WP Delicious recipe, but exists as an independent, orphaned URL).
I upgraded to WP Delicious Pro, hoping advanced settings or re-running the migration would resolve this, but the behavior remains identical.
Because this is a live site receiving steady organic traffic, having 2,000+ standalone duplicate recipe URLs indexed or competing against the primary posts poses an immediate risk of keyword cannibalization, duplicate content penalties, and traffic loss.
Expected Behavior
The migration should parse the Tasty Recipes blocks/shortcodes inside the existing standard posts ([https://yourdomain.com/recipe-name/](https://yourdomain.com/recipe-name/)) and convert them into WP Delicious blocks or embed shortcodes without generating separate standalone /recipe/ URLs, preserving the original URL structure.
Questions & Help Needed
1. In-Place Conversion: How can I convert the existing Tasty Recipes cards directly inside the original post content (/recipe-name/) rather than spinning off separate post entries under /recipe/?
2. Fuud Theme Integration: Does the Fuud theme require recipes to exist strictly as standard WordPress posts, or does it expect the /recipe/ custom post type? If it uses the custom post type, what is the recommended method to avoid duplicate content against the original root-level posts?
3. Safe Cleanup: What is the safest way to purge the newly generated /recipe/ entries without corrupting the original posts or database tables?
