How do you make two columns in a page?

I want to create my homepage with columns where I can put my services. Do i use a shortcode or what? I tried aligning right and left but that just leaves a huge space between them.

Hi, you can use the column shortcode.

Example:

The grid system is based on 12 columns. So the number 6 equal to 50%.
