Right now, the blog page looks like the portfolio, but I would like to have it look like

with the side bar and a preview of the blog available right away.

Hi, select “Blog” template from Page Attributes box and activate the sidebar from theme options > Blog > Blog Sidebar.

I have a question about this as well;

However, these 3 entries do not appear when I click on BLOG in the menu;

Do you know what I am doing wrong?

Hi, you can add a menu to blog page with the Custom Menu widget. We will fix the background image issue with an update, thank for the feedback.

Also, you can add a blog page to your site with the Blog Page widget like the portfolio page widget.
