I am running the theme on a local install of WP on MAMP. As this is the case I am not able to use the importer plug-in to upload and need a manual solution. Is there a way I can upload the dummy content manually to my WP Read Theme?
I am using MAMP on a Mac … I thought it was to do with the fact that WP likes to use FTP to move files about and not PHP. I don’t want to turn on my FTP on my Mac so I thought that manual upload was the only way?
I don’t have any experience on mac. But, in windows, plugins can be installed normally. If you have running other plugins on local, then you can try another importer plugin.
Because WP wants to install plugins via FTP and not PHP it is a FTP issue not a PHP one. So manual install of plugins and updates is the only way unless I activate my computers local FTP which I do not want to do for various reasons. If you know of a way to install the dummie content manually that would be great if not I might have to find another way to build my site.
