Moving from Read to Responcy?

Hello. Ok, this is VERY important …

The website I’ve been working on is a Personal one, which I chose Read theme for it. Now we launched another WordPress website – an official one. So I’m planning to get Resonsy theme, But what I want is to move Read contents to Reponsy ones I get it – if that possible?

Bottomline, I was planning for 2 websites, but now we just decided on one website, and I’m thinking to get Responsy theme. But by keeping the contents and the work I made on Read (mainly Galleries & Portfolios)

I’d really appreciate your help. Thank you

One major point to add. With our Hosting company, we launched 2 websites a long time ago. One is which I used Read theme for. The other is fresh, nothing’s there. So if you can help me with this I’ll be so grateful:

The two websites have different domains. The one I use Read theme for is khalidaldakheel.com, the other is kdcartoon.com (Which I want to use from now on) – so I want to get Responsy theme and use it with it > kdcartoon.com

So there’re 2 switches now I wanna know how to do exactly:
    1. Switching from Read theme to Responsy – with same contents, no effect (and Read theme can be used later on with a personal blog)
    2. Change the current domain khalidaldakheel.com to > kdcartoon.com

So, is it possible I change the domain in WordPress with the current theme (Read) ? – then just install Responsy? – Or import my contents to the new domain kdcartoon.com and just install Reponsy?

Again, I’ll really appreciate it, we’re in a major step in biz. I’ll be waiting for your reply. Thank you

I was about to edit my previous comment but I couldn’t so I thought to add it here

Just to follow-up, I talked with my partners and we agreed on this:
    (Responsy) > at kdcartoon.com/home/
(Read theme – the current website with all finished contents) > On the same domain of Responsy but with a sub-domain at > kdzone.kdcartoon.com

We’d be grateful for your help. Thank you

Read WP is not compatible with Responsy WP completely.

Sorry but if that wasn’t clear, what I want is to move the current website (Read) to a subdomain kdzone.kdcartoon.com – and the new official one (Responsy) on the main one kdcartoon.com

So I wanted to make sure if it’s gonna be effected, and if there’s a guide to make it work ..

    Thank you Mehmet

Where did you build the Read WP firstly? kdcartoon.com?

No, it’s currently on khalidaldakhee.com, kdcartoon.com has no WordPress installed. I just want to move the current WordPress to a new sub-domain at kdzone.kdcartoon.com, then redirect khalidaldakheel.com to it …

    I appreciate you help

Sorry if this isn’t related to the theme. Therefore I just contacted the Hosting company for a guidance on how to move the current website to a sub-domain on kdcartoon.com without any effects on the installed theme & contents.

I didn’t get, Will moving the website to the subdomain could affect on the current website?

1-) ( khalidaldakhee.com ) is a wordpress site with Read WP theme, ok.

2-) You want to move above site to ( kdzone.kdcartoon.com ), ok.

    3-) You want to redirect ( 1- khalidaldakheel.com ) to ( 2- kdzone.kdcartoon.com ), ok.

4-) Export the current content, Go to Tools > Export > All Content > Download Export File,

5-) Do not delete any content or the installed wordpress or database,

    6-) Install a new wordpress to the sub-domain ( kdzone.kdcartoon.com ),

    7-) Install Read WP theme to ( kdzone.kdcartoon.com ),

8-) Import the downloaded export file to ( kdzone.kdcartoon.com ), Go to Tools > Import > WordPress, Select file, upload it, if you see any checkbox about attachment check it and complete the importation,

9-) I think it is ok.

    – work carefully.

Thanks a million for the steps, I really appreciate it man,

I just exported and downloaded a backup of the website (I actually thought I’d need a plugin for that!)

Anyhow, because I just created the new sub-domain, the hosting told me to wait for the DNS and stuff to work out. So I’ll follow the step you provided ones everything is set …

One thing I’m not sure about is the Attachments, well yeah they’re available on the server, but I think I’m gonna need to change all the links-addresses of the images and so on from khalidaldakheel.com to kdcartoon.com (I’m not sure but I think I have a plugin to fix that, because this current website was on kdcartoon.com)

(Note: The hosting company mentioned in their steps the I have to move the files manually from khalidaldakheel.com to the sub-domain though FTP. But I’m assuming that exporting and importing the contents will fix it, correct?)

    Thank you,
    Regards

    – Attachments are images in your content,

    – Do not change the links, wordpress will dynamically addressed the links for the new site while importing the content data file.

Note: The hosting company’s step is not secure way.
