Hi, I’ve set up a website, but the featured post and top content overlap when it’s an embed item like a YouTube video or Spotify podcast. Adding a spacer before the content fixes this, but I’d prefer a proper solution.
Can you please advise? Link and screenshots can be viewed in the private content.
Hi,
Thanks for the details.
At the moment, the image URLs you shared are returning 404 (Not Found) errors, so we’re unable to view the screenshots. Could you please double-check the links or re-upload the images so we can review the layout issue properly?
Once we can see the screenshots, we’ll be happy to advise on a proper fix for the embed overlap issue without relying on spacers.
Looking forward to your update.
Best regards,
SerkanThank you for looking at this.
You can see the issue at the below link with the featured image and media player.
Hi
Could you please provide me your wp admin details via our private content box below?
ThanksHi,
I’ve uploaded a sample episode for you as a reference.
If you check its settings, you’ll see that different options were selected.
Also, you hadn’t installed the podcast plugin yet, so I went ahead and installed it for you.https://chrisvanvliet.com/episode-01-its-time-to-reveal-some-secrets/
Best regards,
SerkanSo what do i need to do for this page to stop the overlapping?
Hi,
That page is a podcast episode post, and the overlapping you’re seeing is happening because the episode content is added in the wrong place.
At the moment, the audio / image content is still added manually at the top of the post. For this post type, the theme already has a dedicated Podcast Episode Details section at the bottom of the post editor.
What you need to do is:
Scroll down to the Podcast Episode Details section.
Upload your episode audio file there, or paste the episode URL.
Add the episode image in the same section.
Then remove the episode-related content from the very top of the post.
Once the episode file and image are added via the Episode Details section and the top content is removed, the layout will fix itself and the overlapping will be gone.If anything is unclear, just let me know and I’ll help.
Best regards,
SerkanThank you for getting back to me so quickly. Unfortunately, manually editing 500+ existing posts isn’t really feasible for us. Would it be possible to achieve the same result by adding/modifying a single line of code ina template, or inserting a tag (or similar) in a template or central location?
Hi, is there any update regarding this request? if you could just let me know which template to amend I’ll happily do it myself.
Hi,
Thanks for the follow-up.
You’re absolutely right — updating 500+ posts manually isn’t feasible. I’ve forwarded this to our developer so we can review the best centralized approach (template-level adjustment vs. a global fix) and confirm what’s possible with your current setup.
As soon as we get the developer’s confirmation, I’ll update you with the recommended path and, if applicable, which template/file would need to be amended.Best regards,
Serkan
