I created a portfolio page and added a link to the menu, but after clicking the link browser goes to the homepage. The workaround for me was to create 2 departments and create a submenu to go directly to the department. But when I click on “Portfolio” it still goes to the main page…

How to fix that?

Create a new page. Select “Portfolio” template from Page Attributes box.

This is what I originally did. But now I removed my “old” portfolio page, created a new one and selected a template, and the same happens. When I click it it gets redirected to the homepage…

It is really weird. Can you please try:

– delete your portfolio page (also from Trash),

– create a new page with Portfolio template (e.g. portfolio2).

Hmm, OK.
There seems to be a problem with the URL.
Any other that /portfolio/ works fine. As soon as I rename the link to /portfolio/ the above behaviour starts to happen.

Perhaps some old entries in the database?

Maybe a plugin related issue. You can try to deactivate your plugins to see changes.
