is there a setting to adjust the placement of the zoom in / crop of the portfolio gallery?
eg – https://www.rhmgmt.com/clients/

the center zoom crop is cutting off heads

or do i need to make an additional image with a different crop (set in the featured image section)

Hi, WordPress automatically crops it. Therefore, you can set the images you add as featured images to be square instead of rectangular.

Hi, also you can navigate Customizer > Portfolio and increase “Image Height” and see if it fixes this.
