We are receiving comments that our blog page is messy looking and requires too much scrolling.
This is for both the ‘masonry’ view and the standard view.
Do you have any suggestions?
My preference would be for it to look like a dashboard so a user can scan quickly without scrolling too much. For example,
Ok I downloaded it. Even the masonry style is better.
Can we have it so that the amount of text shown is the same which makes the tiles exactly the same size. It would be easier on the eyes.
To be honest, the uneven appearance is a little bit disruptive. http://thepowerinsport.com/blog/
I also understand that if I select a featured image it will appear.
The size of the featured image is variable from post to post when displayed in masonry. They do not resize.
Can it be automatic so that the tile size (photo + text) is the same size?
If you do not provide an explicit excerpt to a post (in the post editor’s optional excerpt field), it will display an automatic excerpt which refers to the first 55 words of the post’s content.
– I will add an option to change the default 55 words length on the future update.
Can the featured image be automatically resized to display in the excerpt as a consistent ‘height’. This will help to standardize the size of the blog masonry.
