Hi guys,
I have been using the Readme theme now for a few weeks and something very strange has recently happened. The Blog page is blank and does not display any posts.
Let me start by saying, I have read all the support posts regarding this (blank blog page) topic, have set the particular Blog page to the Posts page in reading settings. I have also been using WordPress for about 10 years and have never seen this problem before.
It happened after I entered a test “Book” in the themes options. Saved and published it and then created a ‘eBooks” page to see what the book I just created looks like and how it functions. What I did not notice at the time, but later after I was done playing around, the new book I published as a test was appearing on my Blog page as the only ‘post’.
I then deleted the test Book I created, reloaded the “Blog” page and no posts are showing. I have over 50 posts, all are still “Published”. What is even more strange is, when I go to preview another theme, I get the standard WordPress notice on the “Blog” page saying there are no posts and that I should go and create one!
I tried republishing some posts and changing publish dates but still nothing. No posts display on the Blog page. I have re-saved the settings for the Blog within the theme. I have also tried creating a new page, setting it as the blog page and posts still do not display.
When using Google Chrome “Inspect” element, there is no content/posts even in the code.
It is all a bit of a mystery.
Until I figure out the problem, I have added the latest_from_the_blog shortcode to the page to show blog posts but really need to figure out the problem.
An advice?
Help appreciated.
-Justin.
Hi Justin,
Have you recently installed a new plugin ? Maybe you can try to deactivate all your plugin and try it again. And also could you provide me your related url and I want to have a look to your website.
ThanksHi Serkan,
Did not install or activate any new plugins.
Have just tried disabling almost all plugins to to success.

Hi Justin,
I could not detect any issue atm. Could you please send your admin detail via out contact form?Hi Serkan,
Have created an Admin login and sent details via contact form as requested.
To verify the problem, you will need to set the “Blog” page (https://justinroselt.com/blog/) to the Posts page in reading settings and reload the blog page. Currently no page is set as I am using the latest posts shortcode to display posts.

Hi Justin,
I disabled all your plugin and tried to activate one by one and realized that Simply Exclude plugin is messing with your website. I just deactivated it. Your blog page is working fine. You told me that deactivated almost all plugin but didn’t deactivate Simply Exclude plugin I guess.
Anyway good luck with your theme =)Hi Serkan,
It’s odd that the Simply Exclude plugin was causing the problem as I have been using that plugin for a while and before I moved to the Readme theme. After setting up Readme theme it all tested good.
Thanks, I can see that was the problem and the plugin is inactive. Will play around with it some more to see where the conflicts are happening.
Thanks for the help!
