We haven’t tested the theme with that plugin.

I also would like to use the theme with 2 languages. WPML is a highly feature rich theme and I am using it with a couple of projects. It’s getting more and more popular and is the de facto standard plugin if you are creating multilingual sites with wordpress so I would greatly appreciate it if impressivcard will also work with it.

At the moment it doesn’t work, but I think it shouldn’t be to hard to change it in a future update.

The WPML guys also offer a program in which they work with theme developers and offer help and support. Perhaps you could look into it: http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/

Perhaps you could also give us some news or information if you are going to implement it?!

We have coded the theme with today’s WordPress coding standards, but is there a plugin related alert message on the dashboard about working problem?

No theme doesn’t report a problem. I think the problem is in fact how the theme uses JS to achieve the rotation effect. I can create translations without a problem, but I can’t link to the translated page. For clarification:

Main language is english, 2nd language is german. So my site has siteurl.com/… for english content and siteurl.com/de/…

So it’s folder based and all german contents are under the de folder. Normally the url: siteurl.com/about will transform to siteurl.com/de/about but this doesn’t work because of the custom links with JS. Perhaps there is already a solution how I have to create the links and I haven’t been able to find it. If you want I can create you an account on the site so you can see for yourself. Just send me an email.

PS: I wasn’t criticizing the themes coding or the general usability at all! I just think it would be nice if one could have the possibility of using WPML as well to create his vcard in multiple languages.

I understand, but the theme’s url addressing functionality does not compatible with the plugin’s needed url in 3D layout. But you can also try to switch the layout option to safe mod by navigating to Theme Options > Animation > Enable Safe Mode.
