Creating a new page for article references

    Hi,

    I want to create a new page to show some articles I have written on other websites. Basically, I want:
    1) two rows of articles, with each column taking up 4 spaces in the grid (have 6 articles total).
    2) I want to have a clickable image that leads the user to the external website, in a new tab.
    3) I want titles below each image box.

    I was trying to utilize the demo “blog” page to do this, as I like the way it looks visually, but they all redirect to internal pages and I can’t seem to edit the existing Blog page.

    Is there a creative solution for this? Thank you.

    Hi, You can create a post format link and use this shortcode;
    [link_wrap]url[/link_wrap] and add a featured image. When you click to featured image, it will redirect to your other posts.
    Other requests are not possible by default.
    Thanks

    Hi and thanks. However, I am having two problems:
    1. I used the link_wrap shortcode you provided but it appears as plain text in the post. Why isn’t it working?

    Code used: [link_wrap]http://uxmag.com/articles/digital-power-structures-the-whispered-secret-of-ux[/link_wrap]

    2. I wanted to create a button that links to the article as well. It is appearing as plain text too and not working.

    Code used: [button text="Check it outtt" new_tab="yes" size="big" icon="fa-book" color="green" colored="yes" url="http://uxmag.com/articles/digital-power-structures-the-whispered-secret-of-ux"]

    Hi, yes, my mistake. URL: imakestuff.online and I am trying to put these external article links in what used to be the Blog page. Thanks.

    Hi, You should choose post format : links
    If you would like to use link_wrap shortcode.

    You can use the button shortcode like this;
    [project_action]
    [button text="Check it out" size="big" icon="fa-eye" colored="yes" color="green" url="#"]
    [/project_action]

    Thanks

    Hi, thanks. The button works. The link format does not. Attached is a screenshot.

    Also, how can I make the button open the link in a new tab? I tried adding: target=”_blank” at the end of the shortcode, but it did not work.

    Hi, Could you explain your issue a bit more please ?
    Could you want to get a clickable image in the single post or in the blog page ?
    Click the insert link tab in the editor area. Make your link via link button.
    You can send me your wp admin details via our contact form and add this topic url as well.
    Thanks
