I have uploaded the theme to WordPress through Bluehost. I bought the theme because I like the looks of the demo theme 3. When I go to activate the child theme, the display under the appearance-themes page for the child theme is the correct one, but once I click customize, the page comes up as the parent theme, and not the layout of the child theme. How do I make it so that when I click customize on the child theme, it actually lets me edit the right one? I want the demo theme 3, not the appearance of the parent theme.

You need to go to appearance > themes > activate the child theme.
