Disabling Google fonts

    I saw, in another post, you recommended the following plugin for disabling Google fonts:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-remove-google-fonts/

    When I enable this, nothing seems to change in the font fields in the Customizer. All the same fonts, most of which are Google fonts I think, still seem to be there.

    Can you explain what’s happening there?

    It’s just not clear which fonts are Google fonts and which aren’t.

    I’d like to avoid using Google fonts if I can.

    Hi, the first 12 fonts are not Google fonts in the fonts list. And the “OS Default” option uses visitor’s operating system font.

    Thanks

    Ah, thanks.

    So if I only use those, I don’t need to use the plugin? There will be no API calls to Google?

    Also, are those first 12 fonts ones that are commonly found on most people’s computers now? I’m just wondering what the downside is to using them, and how often they’d end up seeing a fallback font instead?

    You don’t need to use a plugin. The theme will not call the Google Fonts API if you don’t select a Google font.

    “OS Default” option will apply the following font families:

    -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif;

    The fonts in the fonts list from 2 to 12 are bundled in the theme.

    Thanks
