Hello,
I’ve tried updated the URL link associated with the “Download CV” button through the Customizer as well as the Elementor but it does not work. If I put a # before the url string it just bounces to the same page. If I just put in the url beginning with http:// it give mess a “stop” sign.

I need this up and running by Monday. Please help.

If you use the just hashtag, it will turn the same page. Could you try to use the url with https://

It just gives me a stop sign when I put my cursor over the button

Also, for the standard style of the portfolio post when I click on it from my portfolio there’s just a white space page that appears not my work.

Okay…all of a sudden the button just started working. I think the trick is that I have to update from “Elementor” not the customizer. Still having a problem with the portfolio standard styled items not showing up once the thumbnail is clicked.

You can edit the page with elementor plugin and use the (Pixelwars Core) Button widget from the list. You can add url, change color and etc easily.
You can upload your cv to your media folder and give the related url or you can upload it to any website and copy-paste the url. It is up to you.
