Elementor edits not being retained, reverts to demo settings

    Hi,

    Just trying to set up my new podcast site, I’ve only got as far as working on the Home Page because I keep having difficulties with the 01 Demo for the Home Page.

    I’m working in the Child theme and whenever I go into the basic “Home Front Page Elementor” template page and use Elementor, only some of my changes are visible on the backend. Visually it doesn’t seem to always remember the font and colour settings (whether I change them in the Customizer or in the Elementor).

    When I click into the typeface box in a specific page element to change it for a specific element, my selected font is sometimes there and when I click on it, then the typeface changes from demo default to my chosen font. But sometimes only “default” is listed and I have to got through the whole selection process again. This seems very buggy. The instructions in your documentation are a little bit vague about where to change universal settings for the whole site vs specific pages.

    Surely I should just be able to use the WP Customizer to make all the typeface and colour settings for the whole site/individual pages? And they should stick?

    Second issue: I’m working in Chrome and when I viewed this published page live, it was not reflecting any of the amendments I’d updated (on Elementor & WP). It only showed the original demo content for that page. I refreshed lots and checked on different days and the same problem remained. I’ve just checked on Firefox and it’s reflecting the amends correctly, so I presume it’s a caching issue and I’m going to clear my Chrome cache. But if it relates to some setting that I need to activate for the Child Theme, then please let me know?

    Many thanks,
    Michelle

    Update on point 2 of this topic. It appears it was a caching issue. But I note when viewing the home page live that the logo and menu items are not sitting flush / in alignment. The menu sits higher than the logo. Please advise where I change the spacing / padding settings to fix this as it doesn’t appear obvious within Elementor. Thanks Michelle

    Hi @Michelle
    Any changes you make on the Customizer will affect the website. But the changes you make from the elementor settings will overwhelm the customizer settings, so they will be valid.
    Secondly, chrome is caching browser. You can fix this in your chrome settings.

    You can change the logo position with this custom css code;

    @media screen and (min-width: 992px) { .is-header-row .site-branding { margin-top: -20px; } }

    Thanks

    Thank you Serkan, I will give the code a go. Cache is cleared and my typeface and image changes are now showing correctly.

    You are welcome :) We’d be very happy if you can spare a minute to rate the theme on ThemeForest. Your feedback will boost our motivation and help us to work harder on future updates.
