Only with Ajax off.

What could be going on here? How can I debug this or provide info?

I have super clear latest WP intall, Read 2.3 … created a gallery, added images at the bottom as described. Then created a page of template type gallery.

Am I missing a dependency or something?

to add to this, when Ajax is on, the test page loads, the progress loader black dot flicks on, thinks momentarily and is then gone, follows white space with no images.
