I can not get the menu options on the side to show up. Is there something special that needs to be done. I just keep getting the search option but I can not get portfolio or contacts or any of my other pages to show up on the side menu bar.

Hi ArthurNie,
Please go to appearance > menus and check your menu structure. Under the menu settings, check the classic navigation menu as well. For more info, please read the documentation in the theme file.
