Kindly let me know how to update to newest version without losing my content..

This is mentioned in the documentation provided with the original download, which looks to involve a backup then uploading the new theme files to the original location via ftp.

Though I’m confused, where do I find the update? If I follow the link from the automatic email about the update it just prompts to download the same theme version number file I already have?

Hi, new version is available on ThemeForest. Just download package and unzip. It is under “Theme” folder in the package. And for the updating ways, there is section “How To Update The Theme” under Installation section in the theme documentation.

I have made the update according to the documentation and it didn’t work. All portfolio galleries were display as standard no matter what the option chosen. Thanks god I’ve made a backup as well.

Same here, all updated :)

I just renamed the old theme folder via ftp, uploaded the updated theme to a folder with the original name and voila! Deleted the renamed folder after I checked all the pages, job done :)
