Image zoom effect

    Hi there.

I am wondering if you can tell me how to create the image zoom effect with the magnifying glass as seen on this page: (http://themes.pixelwars.org/oliver/portfolio/blank-space/). If you hover over any of the astronaut images, the cursor turns into a magnifying glass, allowing you to easily click and zoom into a larger image and click again and zoom back out.

I have spent quite some time with the demo content for this page, using WPBakery, trying to see what settings are being used to create this effect. When I click “edit” in that section, even if I make no changes and hit save, it changes it from the magnifying glass effect to a simple link. This would appear to be a glitch, but I’m really not sure.

Is this possibly the result of a plugin that I don’t have active?

    Any info is much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
    When you edit the image, we just put custom url for the image. You can check the related url;

    Hi,

That does not give the result shown in the sample content.

When actually published, it does not do the zoom effect shown with the magnifying glass. It acts as a link and goes to the new url with the larger image, where you can then zoom in and out. But in the sample content (http://themes.pixelwars.org/oliver/portfolio/blank-space/), you remain on the same page and it simply enlarges it with the magnifying glass and then when you click again, it zooms back out to the original page.

With the method you are describing, it links to a different url and then requires you to use a back button to go back to the original page.

This is why I was wondering if there is a plugin or javascript that causes the desired effect, because the screenshot you sent just shows the demo content and even when I publish the demo content, it does not do what is shown here: http://themes.pixelwars.org/oliver/portfolio/blank-space/

Hi, it is not a plugin, it is a built-in feature. To activate it you just need to set “Link To = Image Url” when adding media, if it doesn’t work on your site please provide your related url.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I published the exact demo content. Here is a screenshot of the settings:

    http://www.shimmyboyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Screen-Shot-2017-12-20-at-4.33.45-PM.png

And here is a link to the page:

If you contrast it with the demo page, you will see that the magnifying glass effect is not activated:

I am using a CDN, and I am also using the WP Rocket plugin, and I thought perhaps one of those was conflicting with the effect, but even after deactivating them, I can’t reproduce the effect.

It works when I first upload the demo and then when I edit anything, the effect stops working, even if I make no changes, or reset them to how they were. This is why it seems like a glitch to me.

Is the effect compatible with the current version of wordpress?

    Hi,
I guess you are using minify plugin. Please deactivate it and try it again.
    Thanks
