Hi,
You need to go to appearance > customize > homepage settings > Home Marquee Text > copy and paste your text here. Instead of using the rotate words.
As you can see that, this theme’s layout is little bit different.

That is already configured (Home Marquee Text). Maybe it is the rotate words? How do I turn that off?

I just went to settings > reading > chose homepage and post page then saved it.
