Hi @letisaso
You can install one click demo import plugin and click on the demo which you would like to have.
Also, you can go to dashboard > appearance > customize > blog > you should choose blog list. Also, you should choose blog featured area when you edit the blog page.

Is there a way to change the Blog Page layout so that it’s not a huge slider at the top? Or reduce the slider by half so it’s not so tall?

Maybe some various styles that we can choose from? If not no big deal was just not loving the big slider https://share.getcloudapp.com/12u4z25L

You should go to appearance > widgets > blog featured area > you can change the ratio from here.
