There is a limit for menu item. You can change it with this custom css code;

.is-header-small .header-wrap-inner { max-width: 1300px; }
Or go to appearance > customize > header

1. i don’t see anything changing with the code and
2. it’s not about the menu items, it’s about the last item, which is the search that is taking up too much space

okay i have found the culprit: it is in the padding of the header. strangely there are only 3 choices: left and right, only right and only left

in my case the padding is removed by choosing in header – general.
