Now my menu is showing up on the home page (I had a static page selected instead of posts page) but now my menu does not show up on the rest of my pages…

Do the step in Documentation > WordPress Settings > Reading Settings.

Did a little more digging and reinstalled the theme and started from scratch following each instruction from the documentation one step at a time and it works great.
