Photo gallery gallery: how to obtain a regular size grid

    Hello

As described in thread title i’d like to have a gallery inside a specific portfolio type with a regular, not disaligned, picture grid.
In some porfolios images size are all equal and it works fine but in some other categories they have mixed width/height causing the misalignment.
    Like here: http://www.marcotrimboli.com/portfolio/buildings/

Is it possible to have a cropped, regular preview gallery and, upon entering the single image slideshow, the uncropped version of it?
I’ve tried editing the thumbnail proportion in with Wp “edit image” option but with no luck. I think it’s ignored by the gallery script.

    Another smaller question.
How can i drag down the [intro] homepage landing a little more?
I imagine is a single line of css customisation

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hi Neronzio,
Could you install and run Regenerate Thumbnails plugin please?
Normally grid system should looks fine. This plugin will solve your misalignment issue. But it is not possible by default to have a cropped, regular preview gallery. WordPress is cropping according the images width.
Anyway, after this plugin we can check it again.

You can use this custom css code.
    @media screen and (min-width: 1400px) { .home-landing .home-wrap .intro { top: 34%; } }
    Thanks

Before posting i have read the whole forum section to be sure it wasn’t already posted :)
Already used Regenerate Thumbnails several time trying to solve the issue on my own but i can’t obtain what i want.

The page linked is set to 4 column, and in the backend is correctly previewed, but on the final page is rendered on 3-2 column.
This is something i’ve just noticed.

It would be perfect if i could at least set the thumbnail proportion with the internal wp editor but i don’t know how easy can be achieved technically.

    Hi Neronzio,
Could you deactivate all your plugin and try it again.
Have you tried to add wider pictures al well?

Disabled all plugin but nothing. Still 3 column where there should be 4.
Even here where has much more images to show.

    http://www.marcotrimboli.com/portfolio/hotline/

It’s correctly rendered on 4 only in fullscreen browser window at full hd resolution.

About wider pictures this page has a widest gamma of ratio put together (3 column)
Not sure it’s what you where asking me.

    Hi Neronzio,

    – The column choice of galleries only works if you choose “None” or “Fluidbox” from “Theme Options > Style > Gallery Type For Posts And Pages”

    – Otherwise, if you choose “Photo Gallery” or “Photo Gallery 2″, collage layout is applied to these type of galleries, and collage layout galleries don’t work with column number, instead it takes row-height value to generate layout, which you can set at “Theme Options > Portfolio > Row Height” input, lower the value (default : 360) to have more images in a row, or vice-versa.

    Ok, got it thanks

One last thing. I’ve set the gallery as Fluidbox and columns are ok but it just doesn’t open the full res photo.
I’ve asked some friends if they could visit the page and test it but i got mixed results. In half of the cases it wasn’t working. It just shows the loading animation but then nothing happens.
Tried also on my pc with 4 different browser and on my phone.
I’ve seen the same thing on other sites with the photographer theme.

    Hi,

you need to edit your gallery and in the “Gallery Settings” set “Link To: Media File” then save, and check again.
