I’ve searched the documentation to try and figure out how to set up portfolio lightboxes for links to writing pieces, and I can’t quite figure it out.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.

When I try to link the image to “Custom URL,” it doesn’t work. Clicking the image only enlarges it to a full-width image, instead of linking to the proper page.

Also, when I try to put multiple images with linked URLs on the same line, they automatically separate on different lines with quite a bit of space between, regardless of alignment options. I would like the images to appear as portfolio lightboxes that link to the pages with their associated writing pieces, just like the first object entitled “read” on your sample portfolio page does. Though I’ll be happy if I can just get the linked images to work properly.

I’m using the “default” template for this page.

Another way of approaching this might be to implement a [latest_form_the_portfolio] shortcode like you have for blog posts, if that’s possible.
