Hi;

I understand that the latest projects widget automatically used the most recent portfolio posts. My question is about making a portfolio post specifically for the widget. Do I have to create a new portfolio page first, then add new portfolio items, or can I just go to Portfolio > add new item to add the image to the media gallery?

Just go to Portfolio > Add New.
