Another questions that turned up is, how to organize the portfolio categories as subcategories. I would like to have a category “year” and subcategories as “2009, 2010”, but right now they all turn up on the same level. I’ve opened them up with parent “year”, but it doesn’t show on the frontend.

Hello and thanks.

But unfortunately I don’t understand where to look for “Department”. I was looking for it under “Menu” and Options, but it’s not there and I also upgrated my theme, but I can’t find the template “Portfolio with Departments”.

Hi Jessica,
Go to portfolio > Portfolio Categories and create a departments which name is Year and go to portfolio and add new portfolio which name 2009,2010and etc and assign the portfolios department (which is on the right table) to year department. I guess, this will solve your issue.
