Posts vs. Podcasts?

    Hello,

    The import of shows from an external provider places the shows into WP as “Podcast Episodes,” not as “Blog Posts.” However, your “Episodes” menu on the theme’s navigation bar link to [blog posts]/category/podcast, which is a blog category. Since all of my episodes are “Podcasts” and not “Blogs,” this page is blank except for your example posts, which are blog entries that happen to have MP3 files.

    How do I get the list pages in your theme/template to point to my podcast pages?

    Thanks.

    Hi, when using Seriously Simple Podcasting, you have two options when importing your podcast, Post Type : Post or Post Type: Podcast,

    – if you choose Post Type: Podcast, you can see your episodes at yourdomain.com/podcast , I have just checked this page on your site and it kinda looks broken, if you have another podcast plugin activated such as Podlove, you need to deactivate it and see if it is fixed. Normally it should look like;

    https://themes.pixelwars.org/episody/demo-01/podcast/

    The downside of this approach is you are limited to this regular layout. You may also try; navigate to Podcast > Settings > General and check “Include podcast in main blog” option and your episodes will appear in your blog feed.

    But we recommend to choose “Post Type: Post” when importing your podcast and show your podcast as a blog category, like this;

    https://themes.pixelwars.org/episody/demo-01/category/podcast/

    This way, you can change the layout from “Appearance > Customize > Blog > Category Archive” as you wish.

    Cheers.

    Thanks for the info. I took your suggestion and changed the import to be “Post” type. However, after importing from the RSS feed, I now get a “critical error” when attempting to open any of the posts for edit. When I go to a page where a post would be, there’s the title of the podcast episode, but nothing else — no media or player. Please advise.
