Does anyone know how to easily pull in blog posts from another wordpress blog?

Here are the requirements:

– ‘realtime’ or semi-regular automatic update

– a way to select either all posts or by category.

Note: both sites are wordpress and both use the Bloggy theme.

Researching online I find the recommendation to pull in the RSS feed but that does not preserve the Bloggy formatting.

Any suggestions welcomed.

Hi, go to that another wordpress blog admin, the use export-import method.

– go to Tools > Export.

– go to second wordpress admin.

– go to Tools > Import > WordPress.

Hi, Yes thank you. I am doing that for now but I have to keep doing it regularly to re-import the new posts.

I am looking for an ‘automatic’ update.

Any ideas?

You can search a plugin for that.

I did. Nothing fits the requirements (listed above). Not that I could find.

Try WP RSS Multi Importer by Alan Weiss for importing/updating another blog’s feed. I use it and love it.

Hi Debbie!

Thanks for the note. Much appreciated. After I posted my query here Nov 24, I went back to that plugin and figured it out.
The language of ‘category’ that Allen uses was confusing to me as I thought it equated to ‘categories’ in wordpress, which it does not.
All good now and working as it was designed.
