Readme Theme: html code is in both visual and html toggles

When my husband uses his wordpress these, the “visual” toggle shows ordinary text and the html toggle shows all the code.  I have just started trying to use Readme.  Only the HTML code shows in both toggles. There is no way to see and edit just ordinary text.

Also, when my husband is in “visual”, he gets a box for his sidebar. If he puts content into that box, it goes into the sidebar. But when I try to use  the Readme theme, it doesn’t give me anyplace to put sidebar content, even though there is clearly room for the sidebar when I go to look at the page itself.  I don’t have any sidebar boxes either in visual or HTML.

    Questions:

    1) Is my Theme working the way it’s supposed to?

    2) If not, how do I fix it?

    3) How do I get the theme to give me a place to put content into a sidebar?

What I want to achieve is a home page that looks like the “Blog-simple sidebar” page in the live demo, where the sidebar is the static “About Me” section of the website and the main part of the page shows the posts.  The description of the Readme theme says this is completely possible —  and that is why I bought Readme.  But is what I want actually possible?

    Hi,
It is working its supposed to be. You can edit the visual side easily. If you aren’t please download a fresh copy.
Go to apperarance < Widgets and put the content into the sidebar.
    Thanks
