Hi,
Going through assets loading I am seeing many font files being loaded for my site, which I didnt set and are not fallback fonts.
So e.g. I only have Poppins and Be Vietnam as defaults, but I see 2 other Google font styles being loaded (with all weights).
Currently fonts are weighing 542kb which maybe half I dont need.
How would I strip out these unnecessary fonts? Possible without code or maybe a plugin?
Thanks
Hi, you can disable including all font weights from “Customizer > General > Fonts > INCLUDE ALL FONT WEIGHTS (100-900)” set to “No”.
We recommend two plugins for dramatically improving your page load speed.
1-) Optimole optimizes all the images and serves them over cdn to gain faster image loads;
https://wordpress.org/plugins/optimole-wp/
2-) W3 Total Cache for caching, remember to activate database cache, browser cache and minify.
Hi thank you for the suggestions..
So if I say NO to all font weights, it only includes the ones I specify in Elementor?
How would i remove only *some* of the fonts families however?
As it currently loads fonts I do not use.
I dont mind digging into the code if can tell me where.Thanks
Hi, Install Autoptimize plugin from the WordPress Plugin Directory, go to its settings page (Settings > Autoptimize) and:
Click on the ‘Extra‘-tab,
Select ‘remove Google Fonts‘ from the Google Fonts options menu,
Click ‘Save‘.Hello,
I try again :) I dont want to remove all Google fonts.
I chose the Google fonts because I want them.
What I dont want is random fonts loading, when I didnt select them.
I selected: Be Vietnam, and Poppins font.
The theme is loading: Be Vietnam, Poppins, + 2 Random fonts.I dont want the random fonts.
How could I achieve this?
Thanks
This is an issue because I have 542kb of fonts and I can probably delete 50%, if I can delete the extra fonts I didnt request.
Thanks
Hi, I have just checked your homepage and I can see that you are actually using these extra 2 fonts on your homepage;

Btw, “Customizer > General > Fonts > INCLUDE ALL FONT WEIGHTS (100-900)” option only effects the fonts chosen from Live Customizer and it can’t effect the fonts added by Elementor, it is up to Elementor to load only font weights which are in use. You may request this from Elementor by opening a support ticket on their forum;

Have a nice day!
