Hi,
Just purchased Bloggy WP this morning – great theme!
I’m having trouble getting the Social Icons to display. I’ve added the shortcode to the Header Social Icons widget, per the documentation and the discussion on the forum.
E.g.:
[social_icons]
[social_icon type="twitter" url="http://twitter.com/robgolbeck"]
[/social_icons]The link works, but instead of displaying the icon it just shows a bunch of symbols (e.g. “X”, “_”, and a few others depending on the icon I’m trying to call I guess). The same thing is happening with the search icon, and the icons above the posts.
Here’s a link to the site: http://robgolbeck.com/
Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve checked and re-checked and it seems like I’ve done everything right. Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks!
Hi, some of the source files of Bloggy WP have not been loaded.
– Activate another theme, then delete Bloggy WP.
– Don’t worry, your data is in your database.
– Download a fresh copy of Bloggy WP from ThemeForest.
– Install and activate Bloggy WP theme and check your site.
Thanks
Hi Mehmet,
Thanks for your reply. I’ve just tried all that (twice) and it’s still not working… How were you able to tell that some of the source files hadn’t loaded?
Ok, I think I’ve figured out why the icons aren’t displaying. I just installed the theme on one of my local test sites that is still running WordPress 3.7.1, and the icons display fine (screenshot). My live site is running 3.8, and the icons are not displaying (screenshot).
So it appears it has to do with the WordPress 3.8 update.
I’ll just wait for a theme update. I can live without the icons for now. At least I know I’m not going crazy. :)
Just tested on my side. There is no problem about the icons on WordPress 3.8.
Note: I’ve looked at console to see errors. It is a part of Chrome DevTools.
Mehmet,
Where can I add social media accounts?
I can’t find this in the Bloggy theme editor?
Hi, they are shortcodes. You can find them in the theme documentation. ( Section: Shortcodes > Social Media Icons ).

Hi Mehmet,
Thanks for pointing me to the console. Turns out the issue was with my web host configuration (Bluehost). Just spent nearly 3 hours with two separate support techs, but we finally got it resolved. :)
