I’m trying to make my trending posts images larger, like in the demo. I installed and activated the Top 10 plugin. On WP’s Plugin page, it says “Top 10 has been deactivated, it is known to cause severe database performance issues and is not supported.” My URL is ragan.blog
Hi @ragan,
Could you deactivate third-party plugins and try it again? When I check your trending post, I see the jetpack plugins code inside it. So it is conflicting with that plugin I guess.
ThanksI need more precise guidance. Are you asking me to deactivate ALL 3rd-party plugins? If so, including the ones I downloaded with TheBlogger package? Or are you asking me to deactivate the Jetpack plugin specifically? If so, I don’t see an option on Installed Plugins to deactivate Jetpack. In fact, there’s text that says that plugin is “managed for you.”
Hi,
I mean deactivate all plugins except the pre-included plugins like theblogger default plugins. Jetpack and other plugins are not pre-included plugins with the theme.
ThanksI don’t have an option to deactivate Jetpack. Where Deactivate is for most other plugins, I get, “Jetpack | Settings | Support | Translate.”
I’m not sure which plugins are unique to the Blogger package I purchased. Here are all the Plugins listed on my administrative page:
Akismet Anti-Spam
AMP
Convert Plus
Easy Social Share Buttons for WordPress
Jetpack by WordPress.com
Loco Translate
MailChimp for WordPress
One Click Demo Import
Regenerate Thumbnails
Selection Sharer
TheBlogger Portfolio
TheBlogger Shortcodes
Top 10 (which WordPress will not allow me to activate)
WordPress Importer
WP Instagram Widget
WPFront Scroll TopHi, Go to Plugins screen.
Find the Plugin you wish to deactivate. (AMP and Jetpack should be enough)
Click Deactivate.
The Plugin will initiate the deactivation. This is the third time for me to say this. At the Plugins screen, there’s NO deactivate button for Jetpack. Every other Plugin has a deactivate button but NOT Jetpack. Where “deactivate” is located for every other plugin, I get, “Jetpack | Settings | Support | Translate.”
I’ve deactivated AMP but there’s no option to deactivate Jetpack.
Hi, could you send me your wp admin details via our contact form and add this topic url as well?
Hi, you are using business plan for the wordpress dot com, right? When I check the plans, it says wordpress hosting is automatically controlling the plugins. So, you need to ask this situation to their support team.
Firstly ask why you received this message when activating the top 10 plugin, and secondly, tell them to temporarily disable the JetPack plugin.
Your WordPress admin panel does not provide complete control over plugins which is related to your hosting company and plan.
Thanks
