I need help getting my blog to match up with the style for the theme LORI.

I read the documentation and I have been playing with the settings but I cant seem to get it right. Ideally, I want my first blog post to be fully expanded and then for the rest of them to match the style of the Lori theme where it shows the full sized photo, excerpt from the blog posts, + read more.

Request: Install Lori theme and make theme identical to the one that is shown below.

Hi,
Please go to appearance > widgets > blog featured area > drag and drop the main slider widget to this area > width 100% and set item 1.
Go to appearance > customize > blog > set up your excerpt length. The default is 65 words.
