Hello,
I posted a youtube video in one of my posts and I was hoping it would appear in the excerpt just like a Vimeo video appeared in the demo theme. What can I do to fix this. Thank you.
Link to my blog is http://pinforest.com/coolblog
I just tested your related url in our demo and the video working fine. You are copying the wrong iframe code. It should be like that;
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/DcStWu6UqBk " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
ThanksHello, it’s still not rendering the way it renders in the demo. Here’s the link to the page containing the video.

Thank you
Hi @pinforest;
Please don’t leave any space between the quotation mark and embed code ( after DcStWu6UqBk ).
ThanksI removed the space before trying it, it still doesn’t show in the excerpt
Hi @pinforest;
Go to appearance > theme options > blog > excerpt (no)
Excerpt should be disabled if you want to see the video in the blog masonry.
Or you should copy your iframe code to the excerpt area. It will work out for you.
ThanksHow do I copy my iFrame to the excerpt area. I tried turning off excerpt and it worked, the problem was that it showed the entire length of all the posts on the home page, which made it a terrible experience for the users. So how do I copy my iframe into the excerpt area of a particular post?
Thank you
Hi @pinforest;
I mean cut your iframe code from the content area and paste it to the excerpt box in the post. (It is located at the bottom).
ThanksHi Serkan,
I’ve been looking at the support forum and still having trouble getting videos to show up in the excerpt in the blogroll.
The regular blog posts does not have an “excerpt” box at the bottom. My blog post format is “video” but the video is not showing up on the home page feed.
And when I’ve tried using “media_wrap” it just shows up as unrendered shortcode in the post.
Please advise.
Thanks!
Hi dpham,
On the post editor screen click on the screen options button on the upper right corner of the screen. This will open a fly down menu where you need to check the box next to excerpt.
Once you have checked the excerpt box, scroll down and you will find a excerpt meta box on the post editor screen. This meta box allows you to selectively enable or disable excerpt on a single page.
Also please check the publish option is it private or public.
And deactivate all your plugin and try it again. If all the steps are correct, third party of plugin might be conflicting with the theme.
Thanks
