want department page as my main page

Hello, I am trying to make this as my main page

http://rhanielmiel.com/department/portfolio/

however, when i created a new page and added “portfolio” as a template i am getting one selection that says “portfolio”

Hi,
You can go to settings > readings > and choose portfolio page as a front page and save it.
